an aspect of digital-combat that is largely forgotten today, that being of
course the tactical shooter. Having said that, I’ve been following two games

inception, I was still looking forward to the title. I wanted that old-school

In October of 2012, SFC Josh Gillette, a member of 5th Group, was conducting a dismounted patrol in the Helmand Province along with his ODA Team and his Explosives Detection K-9, Banan. Little did he know, that patrol would change his life in ways he hadn't imagined.

SFC Gillette and Banan were sweeping a structure atop a hill for IED's. Banan lead the way with Josh following behind as they began searching the rooms for devices. It wasn't long until his K-9 was alerted to a potential IED, and Josh was aware that he and Banan may have walked over the device several times without realizing it.

With Banan unable to locate its exact position, SFC Gillette turned around and began walking back over his own steps. With a prevalence of Pressure Plate Initiated Devices in Helmand, walking over ones own steps can typically ensure you avoid triggering the IED. Unfortunately however, that wasn't the case here.

The IED exploded sending SFC Gillette and Banan flying, and from the comments of his teammates, well over 50 feet into the air. Josh came to rest in a bush, his kit ripped in two, his weapon bent into a almost perfect V, and his ballistic plate concaved outwards. His FAST Helmet would later be found 100 meters away from where he landed.

With his teammates providing causality care to a severely wounded Gillette, Josh's primary concern was that of his dog. He would later be told that Banan had been killed in the blast. An event he is still distraught over.
SFC Gillette's face had been shattered in the explosion along with his right arm and most of his teeth. Frag had impacted his eyes. Skin from his thigh had to be used rebuild his face. His vision comes and goes but the doctors are optimistic as to his eyesight's recovery. At present, he has undergone more surgeries than I count with still more planned.
I spoke with Josh today via the phone who is recovering at Walter Reed. He is in remarkably good spirits and I'm confident he'll make a full recovery.

What he and his family need now is your help. A traumatic event like this not only takes a toll on your body and emotional state, but on that of your family, and their income as well. I'm hoping you guys will spread the word and possibly donate to help them out. Special thanks to Shain Gillette for reaching out and contacting me. I never would've know about Josh had he not done so.
I'm getting a lot of these emails as of late after busting Curtis Lynn, a SF/ODA faker. You know, the ones where people contact me trying to vet a person who claims to be or have been a member of the U.S. Military or Special Operations Community. Luckily though, being in of the Armed Forces myself, I have routes to explore that civilians simply don't. And I know people, or people who know people... you get it.

I received an email from someone who was concerned that a member of his organization might be full of shit. This individual has been making outrageous claims, running his suck about his exploits, and generally violating OPSEC (if he had been the real deal).

Below is the initial email requesting I look into this guy and his claims. Click the images for the full resolution.

As you can plainly see, this individual with a face only a mother could love, is 110% full of shit. With the evidence in hand, I shot what I had at the time back to Eric. Did this ass-hat shut his fat trap and carry on? No, no he didn't. Patrick did however try to play the National Security card and began threatening Eric.

People like Patrick seem to think they're safe in the lie they've perpetrated, they don't realize that a vanguard of actual SEAL's exists looking for people making false claims. I happen to know a few. Two of those are Don Shipley and Scott (last name removed). They go out of their way to bust the fakers and post the results online for all to see. Check out Don Shipley's Phoney SEAL of the Week on his YouTube channel for more posers like Patrick.

Sir, I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my fallen SEAL Teammates… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.

If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams and predecessor units from 1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named PATRICK GABBARD. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable.

Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed participation in SEAL training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that PATRICK GABBARD has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT “Frogman”, a member of any Naval Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the Naval Amphibious Scouts & Raiders (S&R).

Many SEAL imposters when confronted with the information I have provided will resort to claiming that their records are sealed, burned or their SEAL Operations were Classified and that there are no official records of them. Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully complete the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and then the follow-on secondary training program.

The names of all those who successfully graduate from that training program sequence are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has "no impact" on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program.

There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs.

For additional confirmation of my findings regarding Mr. PATRICK GABBARD 's lack of SEAL credentials you may contact the Public Affairs Office at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in Coronado, California by telephoning (619) 537-1133. You may also contact the UDT-SEAL Association via email at info@udtseal.org, or by telephone at (757) 318-3764; while they are not formal/official representatives of the US Navy, they have been granted access to the SEAL Database in order to verify credentials of potential members. You may also consider contacting the Naval Special Warfare Archives by email at archives@frii.com; that organization is responsible for creating the original SEAL Database and their extensive collection of documentation exceeds even that held by the US Navy.

Thank you again for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any further assistance to you in this matter, please contact me at your convenience.

Isn't a SEAL. Never was a SEAL. And by the looks of him, never will be... Verifiable proof that Patrick Gabbard is a douche-canoe and lying scumbag.

UPDATE: Eric is currently being stonewalled and the evidence provided has been pushed aside. If they're willing to do to that even with the overwhelming material provided, I think Patrick "Down Syndrome" Gabbard is in good company with the rest of the human slime over there. As for Patrick, well, I wouldn't be surprised if he was paid a visit sometime in the near future.
90% percent of the worlds population during our day and night cycles.

Certainly wouldn't be any hiding it at this point. So today, and
in the coming months when nothing happens, will the individuals across
the web and YouTube have the self-respect to remove their fear mongering
garbage?

I have a feeling they'll just extend the predictions (most are making lots of money off this nonsense). Did I say December 21st, 2012? What I actually meant was sometime in 2013.
Oh man, this pseudoscience bullshit really pisses me off!

I originally saw Bigelow's Hurt Locker when I was deployed to Iraq in 2010. I hated it. It was absolute garbage from the get-go, especially from a EOD standpoint. It's a overtly obnoxious, ignorant, and inaccurate piece of Hollywood shlock that loves to continue the time honored Hollywood tradition of portraying members of the Armed Forces as psychopathic lunatics. In furtherance of Bigelowlife's impression of our men and women in uniform, we're punched in the face with comments like; "Going to war is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It could be fun." "I don't know man, they all look the same." Which of course references an Iraqi.

Hollywood's stereotyped depiction of unstable
vets is in full swing here, with an
increasingly reckless adrenaline junkie and his disregard for safety and
communication SOP puts everyone around him in danger. When the men in the ranks display cold, casual racism, an American
Colonel savagely orders that an Iraqi be left to bleed to death and a
profoundly unprofessional protagonist, so demented by war he can no
longer love his own son, repeatedly endangers himself and the men in
his charge, I don't see "nuance" or "depth" or "complicated" characters.

Hollywood prefers cowardice over courage; witless whiners to motivated
individuals; gutless wimps and hollow phonies to men who know the
meaning of self-sacrifice and integrity. That’s the only conclusion one
can draw after seeing Hollywood’s recent plethora of anti-military
films.

So, where does that leave Zero Dark Thirty? Probably along the same lines as Hurt Locker. It'll be a highly political film with minimal attention to detail, overt dramatization of events, and a singular hatred for the U.S. Military, though it will be subtle. I may have to force myself to see it just to write a review. Though I'll likely have to get nice and liquored up to do it.
I get around 300+ messages in my YouTube inbox a day. Most of them are associated with user comments and a few are PM's dealing with various subjects from the documentaries I've posted, to questions about the military or something related to ArmA. That said, this is one of the most off the wall messages I've ever received. It's some sort of tirade about the Marines, Obama, Google, 9/11, Stolen Valor, assassination attempts and a few others.

The rambling continues on and on and it is hard to determine what the fuck this is actually about. This is due to the horrendous spelling, syntax and proper paragraph formatting errors. Well that, and it appears this individual is a whack-job of Galactic proportions.

Enjoy!
When i was last in the USMC, marines decided to find it fun to
help Obama, make sure no one was going to be there to help me against
organised crime, it was people like Obama who was getting contracts to
people who wanted to try and murder me, getting help of George W Bush
meant that, i was able to go to military School that gained me a
superior role in the USMC,

Now in 2012, i am not able to get any assistance from the Marine
Corps because Marines have a hate for citizens who make no effort to
defend the USA, i understand this because it is citizens who create
conspiracies to get innocent people murdered.

it was citizens who helped make sure life seemed normal so that
when i complained to police or tried to get help , It would be easy to
say, i can not prove who or how people attacked me, so they are not
going to help.. This defied the passport note of the Australian and
american passport note.

example, having a request almost like a right to all lawful aid and protection or every assistance and protection

this is something i am not able to get because people find it fun
to help hijack my industry Google. Originally marines wanted to help
because Citizens who hide in life creating conspiracies and attack
towards American Citizens. took jobs to help cover up the hijacking and
murders carried out to hijack google.

I am currently not even able to get all lawful aid and protection
from the Consulates in Australia because people got the support of Obama
to keep the jobs i got them fired from because they used there power
of position to help make sure i did not get help against people who
tried to get me murdered, and stranded in Australia. ..

In 1994 i used to make claimed to people that i got purple hearts
and Congregationalist medals of honour, Obama even came to the
Whitehouse to give me the Medals all though he was not needed to

people who wanted me to prove this attacked me, i asked if they
thought they were smart enough to see how i can prove this at the age i
was in 1994/1995. they all agreed if i could prove it they would help...

i showed them the passport note, told them my story

and i was able to prove what i claimed..

now in 2012, people do not want me to prove it because they were
lead to forget about me, and now they possibly remember me, they feel
guilty because in 1995 the people who attacked me got Obama help to make
sure i did not get all lawful aid and protection or every assistance
and protection, because the claims i had of protecting the twin towers
was a bluff to stop people trying to get me murdered or trying to help
organised crime hijack my industry google..

Whilst playing a round of ArmA II online I came across this low-speed, high-drag individual on a TS3 server I frequent. Introductions were made, hello's exchanged, and current and prior service stories ensued. Shootin' the shit as it were, I asked what branch he'd served in and what his prior MOS was. He then stated he was former SF, a 18B to be exact, and was formerly 5th Group out of Campbell. Alright matey, AWESOME! Of course I'm AD Army and have more than a passing familiarity with ODA and Fort Campbell (that's where I attended Air-Assault School).

Unless that person is in uniform, on Post, and that Tab is visible on his left shoulder, this "I was/am Special Forces" typically throws up a Red Flag for me.

Luckily a friend of mine (we'll call him Gordo) was also in attendance that night. Gordo has spent a lot of time working closely with Group over the years, and Curtis' statement also peaked his interest. We began our questioning with simple topics such as - What Team were you on? What was your SFAS class number? What were your CO and 1SG's names? None of these were answered. All of these queries were meet with dead silence, trailing off, or supposed COMM problems. I even asked him where the Class-Six was. That's the liquor store for all you civies out there. Dead silence again. I'm sorry, but every Soldier on every military instillation knows exactly where the fuckin' booze store is at!

The incident took place on the 26th of October. GROM Commandos on a
combat patrol with the support of a air-assault unit separate from the
Polish Task Force. After landing, the Poles were then attacked by numerically superior Taliban forces in a Complex Ambush.

The Taliban then surrounded the Poles. The exchange of fire lasted over
three hours. During the battle, over 20 Taliban fighters were killed and 14 were
wounded, among the dead was their commander. Two GROM Soldiers received minor wounds.

I don't know what it is about GROM. They're just fuckin' badasses.
Stop using your wheelchair as a crutch': Marine who lost legs in
Afghanistan forced out of restaurant with his family after cruel taunts
from rival football fans

The Moosehead Grill in Charlotte, N.C., played host to some staggering
jackassery this past Sunday. Garrett Carnes, a Marine veteran who lost
both of his legs in Afghanistan, stopped at the restaurant with his wife
Courtney and other family members after attending the Cowboys-Panthers
game. Things had grown ugly before Carnes, who was wearing a Dallas
Cowboys jersey, even got into the restaurant.

Garrett Carnes

Coburn said that when the group reached the front door, the fan was waiting for them.

“He was standing at the door, and he started harassing us because of the Cowboys jerseys,” Coburn said. He said the fan told Garrett Carnes, “Don’t use your wheelchair as a crutch.”

The fan, who did not want to give his name, gave a different account. “Moosehead is a Panthers’ bar,” he said. “When they came, wearing the
Cowboys’ jerseys, I started up on them. I asked them if they were
Cowboys fans who lived in North Carolina.”

“I’m not going to fight someone in a wheelchair,” the fan said. “I said
to him, ‘I’m not fighting you. Get four of your boys, and I’ll fight
them.’ According to multiple accounts of the incident, Carnes told the patron –
and others who were ridiculing the group for being Cowboys’ fans – that
he was a veteran and had lost his legs in Afghanistan.

Carnes, who is still undergoing treatment for his wounds at a
Washington-area hospital, is trying to stay out of the dispute, Coburn
said. Carnes’ mother, Rhonda, addressed a note to restaurant patrons on
Facebook, saying, “Why didn’t any of you stand up for my son and
daughter? And to think my son almost died for every single person in
that bar, by defending all your freedom.”

Over the years I've grown rather fond of this particular beer for some reason. Could be the time I spent in Germany, or it could be due to the fact that its sold by the truckload here at the post liquor store. Probably a combination thereof.

1.) Becks compliments any meal. Kinda.

2.) For an import its not that expensive, nor is it cheap. Wait...

3.) It has a rather interesting flavor. It's not quite the stout of Guinness or the punch of a Russian Imperial. Can't quite place it. Defiantly unique.

4.) It can be purchased for around $14 a twelve pack. Excellent price for a import in my opinion. These prices aren't applicable to you nasty civilian types.

5.) Goes great at BBQ's, weddings, funerals, christenings, while playing video games, while watching your friends play video games, the second coming, Bar Mitzvahs, more weddings, bachelor parties, at strip joints (not the low-brow ones), birthdays, <strike>while at work</strike>, at the movies, and a myriad of other activities.

So start drinking right now! That's an order.
Yet the U.S. military, at least officially, still bans women from
serving in direct combat positions. As irregular warfare has become
increasingly common in the last few decades, the difference on the
ground between front line and support roles is no longer clear. Numerous
policy changes have also eroded the division between combat and
noncombat positions. More and more military officials recognize the
contributions made by female soldiers. Politicians, veterans, and
military experts have begun actively lobbying Washington to drop the
ban. And a 2011 survey conducted by ABC News and The Washington Post found that 73 percent of Americans support allowing women in combat. Something terrible this way comes! Unfortunately, that isn't a tag line for a movie.

The newest installment in the MoH franchise isn't very good. In fact it borders on the terrible. The not extravagantly outstanding, but enjoyable Medal of Honor 2010 had quite a lot of things going for it, namely the campaign and associated storyline. It was well told through the eyes of Tier-1 personnel conducting operations which were loosely based upon those during Operation Anaconda. The characters were engrossing and the protracted plot was interesting, it pulled the player into that world, it made you want to experience what was going to happen next.

The campaign in Warfighter is a little different. Really different. And really incoherent. It juts back and forth constantly, from the past to the present, back to
the past, and even further into the past, and then right into a
mission. Danger Close would like you to believe Warfighter is the story
of a operator toeing the line between family and duty, but you learn so
little about the man that the attempt rings hollow. The central character is a blank canvas, his back-story nonexistent, and any explanation as to why his wife is constantly pissed off is unknown. Selfish cow should hit up the Class-6 like the rest of the base wives. Of course I'm joking... perhaps.

"Authentic experience" indeed. Hey brah, your Magpul pop-up sights are on backwards.

While there are some intense and memorable moments here and there especially the driving segments, they pale in comparison to a sporadic AI, frequent bugs, and texture popping issues. True, the PC version looks like a BMW compared to its Yugo Console brethren, the visuals are still rather bland in places and texture streaming issues abound.

In today's market of competitive online gaming, my hopes remained optimistic as to the multi-player component. Those were however quickly dashed once I actually launched a session. Upon choosing a server I was greeted with a menu UI that was more awkward and confusing then it should have to be, and before I could even choose my kit, the game had me spawned right into the action. Okay, very well then. I'll just kill someone, die, and try again. I acquired my target, a bush-wookie (sniper), and fired around 15 rounds into him from around 25 meters. Was he killed? No, no he wasn't. He did however turn to face me and with a single round, ended my digital life.

Hmm... Lets try this again, shall we? Prior to spawning I quickly chose weapon customization - You won't fool me again Warfighter. Being that the map I was currently playing on was more of a CQB level, I thought it would behoove of me to pick iron sights or a optic more suited to the environment. Unfortunately however, I was stuck with the ACOG and its magnification level, the other options including iron sights weren't unlocked yet. Wait, I have to unlock iron sights? Shouldn't the unlock process be the other way around?
Not even taking into consideration the questionable rank and progression system. There are serious problems with round registration as the bullets impact or don't impact a character. This is due to the fact that the hit-box in Warfighter is horrendous, and while BF3 suffers from the same ailment, it appears that Danger Close screwed something up... or they didn't care to improve upon it... I don't know. If you're hoping that Hardcore mode would make the game a little more interesting, increasing the lethality, and forcing people to think tactically, think again. All Danger Close has done is to remove certain HUD elements for said mode, negating one of the primary reasons gamers play on more difficult settings.
